The director of The Quartet is Morag Swietlicki (violin).
Morag graduated from the Royal Scottish Academy of Music & Drama (the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland) with a BA in Music Performance and a Postgraduate Certificate in Orchestral Studies. Following this she gained a diploma in Orchestral Studies from the National Centre of Orchestral Studies, London.
Morag has played with many of the British symphony orchestras including the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra, the Royal Scottish National Orchestra and the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra. Morag has also worked with the Orchestra of Scottish Ballet, the Orchestra of Scottish Opera, The Orchestra of Opera North, The Manchester Camerata, The European Opera Centre and The Orchestra of English National Ballet.
Morag has played as part of the orchestra for many international soloists including Jose Carreras, Vanessa May, Tasmin Little, Maxim Vengerov , Paul Tortellier, and Lesley Garrett.
As well as a classical music background Morag has toured with Led Zeppelin and played for the west end show ‘The Phantom of the Opera’. Morag has played for hundreds of weddings and events over the years so you can be sure she will help to make your event a success.
All our players are conservatory trained professional musicians.
All our players are working professional musicians in Scotland, and as well as performing with The Quartet, have busy schedules performing and teaching around the UK and abroad. We have a large database of musicians that we work with including harpists and singers so if you are looking for something special to add to your event, just get in touch with us and we would be happy to discuss your requirements.
